The Helwys Society Forum Welcomes Rebekah Zuñiga

From time to time the Forum welcomes a new contributor into our ranks. With Christa Thornbury’s pending departure, we knew that we would have big shoes to fill. However, we’ve been gratified in recent years to share with our readers the voices of a number of guest writers. They bring a diversity of perspective, knowledge, and experience that enriches us all. One such contributor has been Rebekah Zuñiga. We’re pleased to announce that she will be joining the Forum in 2020 as a contributor and assistant editor.

Rebekah’s first contribution dates back to 2015, when she authored a thoughtful, counter-intuitive article on the role of silence as a spiritual discipline. Since then she has written on dance and reaching Hispanics in the United States. These articles parallel her graduation from Welch College (B.A., History) and Trevecca Nazarene University (M.A., Teaching). She also has since married (2015) and become a mother earlier this year. She has recently joined her husband Zuri as part of the church pastored by one of our other contributors, Jackson Watts. Additionally, she is the sister of another contributor, Phillip Morgan.

Rebekah not only has a strong educational background, but also she has a sharp mind and strong ethic of service. We believe that this is evident both with what she has written, as well as with her involvement in local church ministry with her husband Zuri. We hope our readers will welcome her by giving attention to her forthcoming essays.
